My grandparents are: Cronos and Rea, My parents are Zeus, the god of the thunder and  Metis the goddess of the prudence. I don't have brothers of the same parents                                                           dence. I don't have brothers of the same parents                                                                                   because Zeus ate Metis when he knew that she was pregnant but I was born through Zeus head. The reason why Zeus and Metis was because he was afraid that the sons that she would have were going to be stronger than him.

The symbol that represents me goddess of the knowledge is the olive branch.

 

 

I remember when a Polis was established and the citizens wanted to name that polis in honor to a god and they choose Posidon and me as candidates, I felt really proud and I really wanted that the Polis had my name but also Posidon wanted that and the thing that we had to made was to create a gift that was going to be useful for all the citizens.

 

That gift was difficult to choose because it should be useful and I didn’t get any ideas just 2:

A new kind of fruit that give them energy or a new kind of animal, I was going to take my time, but I think that Posidon didn’t think his gift very well because suddenly he made a big wave that came from the ocean and create a big lake of salty water, at that moment I thought that the gift that he created was not useful for anything because it didn’t had fishes and people could not drink that water because it was salty.

 

Finally I got an idea so I stuck my spear on the ground and from the whole it grew and olive tree that was representing the peace on earth, also I had created the first on earth and people can eat the olives, I Thought it was more useful that posidon’s gift. Then all the citizens vote and all the mens votes in favor of Posidon’s gift and all the womens in favor of my gift. At the end my gift win for one vote so the Polis was called Athena, but Posidon was not a good loser so he decided to over flood the city and the only thing that the citizens could made to make Posidon change of opinion was not letting the women vote anymore.

That was really unfair because as I said before  it was evident that Posidon’s gift was not useful but I couldn’t make anything.

 

Athenea had been involved in many histories and adventures, but I thought that this myth was the most interesting of all. Finally another thing that you have to know about Athenea is that she never got married and that´s way she doesn’t have son’s or daughter´s.
